[RFC] Proposal for SaucerVision - Bridging the Governance Information Gap

Title: SaucerVision - Bridging the Governance Information Gap
Author(s): PYOR Research Team
Submission Date: April 17, 2025

Summary

SaucerVision is a biweekly content series designed to bridge the information gap between Saucer Swap governance forum activities and social media platforms where community members are active. The initiative will transform governance discussions, technical updates, and protocol developments into accessible, engaging content over a 3-month pilot period. The proposed budget is 80,000 SAUCE monthly (approx. $3,000 USD at current rates).

Abstract

SaucerVision aims to address the disconnect between governance activities and the broader Saucer Swap community by creating regular, accessible content that explains governance proposals, technical updates, and protocol developments. The initiative will produce biweekly video content, monthly research reports, and supporting social media posts to ensure SAUCE token holders remain informed about governance activities regardless of whether they actively participate in governance forums. By making governance information more accessible, SaucerVision seeks to increase participation rates, improve decision-making quality, and strengthen the overall Saucer Swap ecosystem.

Motivation

Currently, there exists a significant information vacuum between governance activities happening within the Saucer Swap forums and social media platforms where most community members spend their time. Many SAUCE holders remain unaware of key governance proposals, technical developments, and discussions simply because they don’t regularly check governance forums or attend community calls. This leads to:

  1. Low governance participation rates
  2. Uninformed voting decisions
  3. Concentration of governance power among a small subset of highly engaged users
  4. Missed opportunities for community input on critical protocol decisions
  5. Limited awareness of Saucer Swap’s technical improvements and roadmap

This proposal addresses these issues by bringing governance content directly to the platforms where community members are already active, transforming complex governance information into accessible, engaging formats that can be easily consumed and shared.

Specification & Rationale

Content Delivery

SaucerVision will deliver biweekly content over a 3-month period:

Biweekly Content Package (twice per month):

    • Governance Updates: Summaries of recent proposals and votes

    • Technical Deep Dives: Exploration of protocol updates and parameter changes
    • Hedera Integration Spotlight: Focus on Saucer Swap’s integration with the Hedera ecosystem
  • Short-form Videos (4 per month): 30-60 second clips optimized for social media with key takeaways, standalone governance insights, and quick explainers on upcoming proposals

  • Monthly Research Report (1 per month): Comprehensive analysis of ongoing proposals, governance activities, participation metrics, and future outlook

  • Accompanying Social Posts (4 per month): Supplementary social posts to amplify findings with strategic posting schedule

Implementation Timeline:

  • Week 1-2 (Preparation): Research governance structures, establish content templates, set up production workflows
  • Week 3-4 (Launch): Produce first content package, create social media assets, establish publishing calendar
  • Months 2-3 (Regular Production): Deliver biweekly content packages and monthly research reports
  • End of Month 3: Community feedback call to evaluate impact and discuss potential extension

About PYOR

PYOR is an analytics and research firm focusing on governance, established in 2022. We bring specialized expertise in governance communication and community engagement.

Proof of Work:

  • Arbitrum Governance Guide: This governance-focused video explores the Arbitrum DAO structure, operations, and participation methods. It showcases our expertise in breaking down governance systems into understandable components with clear guidance for community members.

  • Linea Rollup Analysis: This research report examines Ethereum’s fastest-growing zkRollup, highlighting our capacity to track emerging technologies and explain their technical differentiators and market positioning in accessible terms.

Trial Run Offer

Before full implementation, PYOR is prepared to create a sample video based on recent Saucer Swap governance activities at no cost. This would allow the Saucer Swap community to evaluate our approach before committing to the full proposal.

Benefits (Pros)

  1. Increased Governance Participation: By making governance information more accessible, more SAUCE holders will be informed about and participate in governance decisions.
  2. Better Informed Community: Regular, digestible content will help community members understand complex protocol changes and their implications.
  3. Expanded Reach: By meeting community members on their preferred platforms, governance information will reach a much wider audience.
  4. Enhanced Transparency: Regular coverage of governance activities promotes transparency and trust within the ecosystem.
  5. Educational Resource: Content will serve as an ongoing educational resource for new community members.
  6. Protocol Promotion: High-quality content about Saucer Swap can be shared beyond existing community members, potentially attracting new users.
  7. Historical Documentation: Creates a valuable archive of Saucer Swap’s evolution and governance decisions.

Downside (Cons)

  1. Resource Allocation: The budget allocated to content creation could potentially be directed to other protocol needs.
  2. Potential for Bias: Content creation inherently involves editorial decisions that could unintentionally favor certain perspectives.
  3. Measuring Impact: Quantifying the direct impact on governance participation may be challenging.
  4. Execution Risk: The quality and consistency of content will depend on the team’s ability to maintain high standards over time.
  5. Long-term Sustainability: If the pilot is successful, additional proposals will be needed to ensure continuity.

Questions for the Community

  1. Is there interest in funding a 3-month pilot of SaucerVision?
  2. Which aspects of Saucer Swap governance would you most like to see covered in video format?
  3. Are there specific changes or additions to the content plan that would make this initiative more valuable?
  4. Would a trial video be helpful before making a decision?

We welcome all comments, questions, and suggestions from the Saucer Swap community to help refine this initiative before proceeding to the next governance stage.

Hi,

What is PYOR’s relationship with Saucerswap? Is PYOR an investor in $SAUCE?

Or is PYOR just looking at providing a service (marketing)?

Thanks.

Thank you for pointing this out. We understand the importance of adhering to SaucerSwap’s governance scope guidelines.

Our research reports will focus specifically on forum activities that fall within the purview of the DAO. We will analyze discussions, proposals, and voting patterns related to governance matters that are explicitly within the DAO’s responsibility, providing insights that help the community better understand and engage with the governance process.

We are committed to respecting the established governance boundaries while delivering valuable content that enhances transparency and participation in DAO-related activities.

Best regards,
The PYOR Team

Hi there,

PYOR is not an investor in $SAUCE. We’re an independent research and analytics team looking to provide governance reporting services to the SaucerSwap community. Our focus is on creating informative content that helps community members better understand governance activities within the DAO’s purview.

We have no formal relationship with SaucerSwap at this time - we’re simply proposing a service that we believe could add value to the ecosystem through enhanced governance transparency and engagement.

Best regards,
The PYOR Team

It’s been a few days since we posted our initial proposal, just wanted to follow up to check in with the community. We’re eager to refine our pitch based on community input so we can better align with the DAO’s goals and needs. Even brief thoughts or questions would be incredibly valuable at this stage and would help us understand if:

  1. There are aspects of our proposal that need clarification
  2. The idea aligns with current community priorities
  3. There are specific modifications that would make the proposal more valuable to the community

We’re committed to contributing positively to this ecosystem and believe our proposal offers genuine value, but we want to ensure it meets the actual needs of the community.
