Summary:

  • We propose the creation of a V2 PACK/xPACK pool with a 0.15% fee tier on SaucerSwap. The objective of this pool is to increase liquidity for the newly created xPACK token which in turn, should create a healthier market for users participating in PACK Staking.

**Abstract: **

  • The creation of the V2 PACK/xPACK pool should increase the amount of liquidity in PACK related pairs while minimizing the price impact users see when swapping in and out of xPACK. Additionally it should offer an alternative route for users swapping in or out of PACK which could potentially offer more optimized trades.

Motivation:

  • With the creation of this V2 pool we aim to solve market inefficiencies and attract more liquidity into the ecosystem. These market inefficiencies have come up from thin liquidity provided on the V1 pool and have materialized in the form of high price impact for larger trades, which in turn have increased the spread between PACK and xPACK. In the long-term we see the creation of this pool as a remedy to this and an opportunity to increase the ways in which users can start holding xPACK.

Specification & Rationale:

  • We introduced xPACK as a way to reward our current users and as a way of distributing the newly vested PACK to active community members. With the introduction of a new trading pair, we see an opportunity of increasing trading activity around PACK pairs on SaucerSwap by those users who would look into arbitraging the delta between the price of xPACK in relation to PACK similar to those arbitrages we have seen between SAUCE and xSAUCE. Additionally, we see this proposal as a good way of increasing the liquidity depth and health of the PACK market.

Benefits (Pros):

  • Improved market health for PACK
  • Sustained liquidity
  • Improved capital efficiency for liquidity providers.

Downside (Cons):

  • Normalization of arbitrage opportunities.

No one has really made any objections based on the technical overhead issues in previous V2 proposals.
Sure the team didn’t exactly tell us how much the data costs are, but haven’t rung the alarm bells on them either.

So I don’t think there would be any substantive objections to this.
